Mini Awl - Avlea

The Avlea Rosewood Mini Awl is a beautifully made little tool that is a lovely addition to your stitching basket. The warm rosewood* handle fits perfectly in the hand, and the precision 1" awl tip makes quick work of two of the most common tasks in folk embroidery: removing stitches (the dreaded "frogging"!) and pulling threads when working a drawn thread hem finish. I know this tool well from my years as a professional tailor, where awls like this were indispensable for pattern drafting and I was delighted when our hoop supplier offered this beautiful version.
