it's smooth from being ironed...want it wrinkley - just mist it with some water and "crunch" it up with your hands and let it dry - it's perfect for edgings on pincushions and other stitched pieces - it fills in the gaps and is very easy to use - loop it, rusch it, you can couch it, whip stitch it on to your item
